YAHUKIMO - Task Forces of the Infantry Battalion 6 Marines, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA in Papua, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Yahukimo Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Friday, 23 August 2024, regarding regional security duties, the Marines Task Forces conducted a patrol by greeting residents in the Kokamu Village, Dekai District.
Commander of the Marines Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, left a message to the Soldiers who would conduct the patrol on Friday, namely the Bravo Post led by Second Lieutenant Alter. The message was that every Soldier should use their assignment for positive things, not just tend to do it as a routine. The message was immediately answered with the initiative of the Soldiers in conducting the patrol by performing Social Communication with the community they met along the patrol route.
While still prioritizing the security aspect of the Patrol, when they met residents, the Soldiers invited them to communicate and were greeted happily by the residents of Kokamu. During the communication, the Indonesian Marines also told the community to stay safe and healthy. Feeling treated like a close relative, a resident named Alex Otimuka happily said, "Shalom, Pak Tentara (Soldier). Thank you for the message".
The HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report, said, "The initiative of the Marines Task Forces in holding Patrols by conducting social communication in Kokamu Village is TNI’s effort to maintain the security that supports the acceleration of development in the Papua region."
